The wait is over. Neomonde’s first Durham restaurant is ready to open.
After more than a year of construction and anticipation, Neomonde will open in Durham Thursday — its first location outside of Wake County.
The popular Lebanese bakery and deli will open in first floor of the Unscripted Hotel in the heart of downtown Durham.
Neomonde started as a bakery in 1977 and later grew into restaurants in Raleigh and Morrisville. The original is on Beryl Road in Raleigh near the NC State campus, with the Morrisville location opening in 2000. The new Durham restaurant is 3,000 square feet.
Neomonde announced last summer that it would build its third location in the renovated Unscripted Hotel, planning to build a more modern restaurant.
The restaurant marks the build-out of Unscripted’s ground floor, joining neighbors Jack Tar & the Colonel’s Daughter, a diner and cocktail bar, and Pour Taproom, a self-service beer joint. Durham’s soon-to-open skyscraper One City Center is across the street.
