You voted for the best high school marching band in the Triangle. Here’s the winner.
Update: We have our winner! The Apex Friendship High School Band took home the honors with 37% of the votes cast.
“With countless hours that began in July 2021 following a lost year of marching band, the Apex Friendship Patriot Regiment worked tirelessly throughout the hot summer and cooler fall to provide a show that earned them two grand champion wins this year!” said Barbara Ann Dale, president of the Apex Friendship Band’s Booster Board.
“As tirelessly as they work, we hear them at the end of the season saying, ‘I can’t wait to do that again.’”
Runners up: The Enloe High School band in Raleigh received 33% of the votes. Apex High had 23% of the vote and Athens Drive High in Raleigh had 6%.

High school bands are the soundtrack of every football game and pep rally.
The sounds of school fight songs are always sure to hype up the crowd as the action unfolds on Friday nights during high school football season.
And while this year’s high school football season has come and gone, The News & Observer isn’t letting it get away without determining which high school has the best marching band in the Triangle — Wake, Durham, Orange and Johnston counties.
