How Chow-Corgi Cross Tells Mom He Wants To Go for a Walk Melts Hearts

A heartwarming moment between a rescue dog and her owner is capturing attention online, as a chow-corgi cross finds the sweetest way to ask for a walk.

In a viral Instagram video shared on Thursday by user @honey_the_fox, a dog named Honey communicates her excitement in a way that has melted viewers' hearts.

The clip opens with Honey standing near her owner's bed with her paws on the blanket, her tail wagging and what appears to be a wide, happy smile across her face. “Hi, hon, what do you want?” her owner asks gently.

As the conversation continues, Honey's body language does most of the talking. She shifts her gaze toward the window, signaling her interest in going outside. Picking up on the cue, her owner follows up: “Do you want, do you want to go out?”

That is when Honey's excitement becomes unmistakable. She immediately takes her paws off the bed and begins jumping around energetically, clearly thrilled at the suggestion. Her joyful reaction leaves little doubt about what she wants.

“Ok, let's go out,” the owner says, confirming Honey's request. The dog then eagerly leads the way, guiding her owner out.

The video is captioned, “What does miss Honey want today?"-a question that viewers quickly found easy to answer.

The poster, Zoe Becker, from New York, told Newsweek that Honey is a chow-corgi rescue with a personality that shines through moments like this.

Becker added that Honey enjoys interaction and responds especially well when spoken to using her favorite words.

Dogs need daily exercise, but the exact amount varies based on age, breed, and health. There is no single rule that applies to every dog.

The American Kennel Club says that puppies typically have high energy and benefit from multiple short play sessions or walks throughout the day rather than long, intense exercise, which can strain their developing bodies.

For adult canines, exercise needs depend heavily on breed and physical condition. High-energy breeds require significantly more activity than low-energy ones, while pups with medical issues may need adjusted routines guided by a veterinarian.

Senior dogs still require regular exercise, though it may be gentler and shorter. Staying active supports both physical health and mental stimulation, helping prevent obesity and improve overall well-being.

Exercise can include walking, playing, training, or activities such as swimming and fetch. Mental stimulation is also important. Even indoor games can help maintain fitness when outdoor exercise isn't possible.

The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 206,000 views and more than 42,000 likes on the platform.

One user, Miefischmann, commented: “I seriously can't cope with her CUTENESS AND LITTLE SNEEZES AAHHH!”

Manda_diaz said: “This is how my corgi communicates too! Smiles and butt wiggles when you hit the correct request on a list.”

Ssssiassssia added: “Omgggg [oh my God] she is precious.”
