Ethan Embry Boards Season 3 of Mega-Hit Prime Video Series
Prime Video's Cross is expanding its impressive cast. Ethan Embry, who most recently appeared on the big screen in Scream 7 as Marco, is boarding the psychological crime thriller for Season 3 as a series regular. He'll play Frederick, "a charismatic sobriety coach known for leading with tough love. Strong, resilient, and generous with his time, he is widely admired for making others feel seen."
Cross Season 1 debuted all eight episodes on Nov. 14, 2024. The first season smashed records for the streaming juggernaut, raking in 40 million viewers globally in its first month. Season 2 premiered on Feb. 11 of this year. This time, the series opted for weekly releases, with its three-episode premiere accumulating a whopping 613 million minutes watched during the week of Feb. 9.
Here's a synopsis of the show per Prime Video, which is based on characters created by James Patterson:
"Starring Aldis Hodge, Cross is a Washington, D.C.-based crime drama that follows Alex Cross, a brilliant homicide detective and forensic psychologist, uniquely capable of digging into the minds of serial killers in order to identify and catch them. In Season 2, Cross is in pursuit of a ruthless vigilante who is hunting down corrupt billionaire magnates."
In addition to Hodge, Cross stars Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Johnny Ray Gill, Jeanine Mason, Wes Chatham, and Matthew Lillard. The series hails from creator and executive producer Ben Watkins.
Embry's most recent screen credits include The Gymnast, 2025's Christy opposite Sydney Sweeney, the short-lived 2023 series Gotham Knights, and the Gerard Butler vehicle Last Seen Alive. He was also a series regular on Netflix's critically lauded comedy Grace and Frankie as Coyote Bergstein. He can next be seen starring opposite Mark Wahlberg in the Elegance Bratton-helmed crime thriller By Any Means, which will premiere on Sept. 4, 2026.
