Scottie Scheffler Makes Strong Statement Before Final Round at RBC Heritage
Scottie Scheffler posted a stellar scorecard on Saturday, carding a 7-under 64 in the third round of the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links.
Scheffler birdied five of his first six holes, getting off to a red-hot start. After a string of pars to start the back nine, the World No. 1 golfer closed out the day with two birdies in the final three holes.
Scheffler ended his third round as the tournament's leader, but was later surpassed by Matt Fitzpatrick.
Scheffler holds solo second at 14-under heading into Sunday's final round, trailing Fitzpatrick by three strokes.
World No. 1 and 20-time PGA TOUR winner Scottie Scheffler posts a third-round 7-under 64 and is the new clubhouse leader at the RBC Heritage. The event's 2024 champion has now shot under par in all 15 rounds at Harbour Town Golf Links.

Scheffler is pleased to be in contention to win after a relatively slow start through his first two rounds. The 20-time PGA Tour winner went 3-under on Thursday and 4-under on Friday.
"Good to be back in the tournament," Scheffler said after his third round. "I was a little bit behind the 8-ball going into today, but had a nice round to put myself back in position."
After going 1-over on the front nine, Fitzpatrick bounced back with a 4-under score on the back nine - including an eagle on No. 15.
"Fitzpatrick goes out today and shoots 64, that's going to make things really hard for me," Scheffler added. "You need a tiny bit of help, but I can't control what those guys are going to do. If somebody shows up and shoots 28 under on this golf course, sometimes you just get beat.
"So going into today I was just going to do my best and see where that left me."
Scheffler and Fitzpatrick will tee off at 1:50 p.m. ET on Sunday.
