If you've ever met a rescue cat with a unique look, you know there's usually a story behind it. In this case, there are… several stories. All of them equally questionable, and all of them delivered with complete confidence.

And honestly, that might be the best part.

The hilarious video was shared on the @neko.cat.cafe TikTok account. The video features a Siamese cat named Vincent Van Gogh, a one-eared resident of the Seattle cat cafe rescue, but instead of a straightforward explanation, viewers are given a rotating list of reasons for the missing ear.

Apparently, "He lost it in the divorce," which feels like a lot to unpack. Another explanation claims, "He left it in his other pants," which raises even more questions. And then there's the idea that it's, "On loan to a different museum," which, given the name, feels suspiciously on-brand.

People in the comments immediately joined in. "Someone one time asked if he could lend an ear," one person wrote, which deserves recognition.

"Maybe he was born without it, maybe it's Maybelline," somehow made perfect sense in context, while, "I asked him about the rumors, but he hadn't heard about them," kept the joke going in exactly the right direction.

"I tried to ask him, but he won't listen to me," might be the most accurate commentary of all. "Okay, but the answers are hilarious. And he is a cutie!" really sums it up.

Because underneath all the jokes, Vincent is just a very sweet cat with a slightly unconventional look that somehow makes him even more charming.

Until I Found You - Stephen Sanchez

Kitties are incredibly adaptable, and many can live full, happy lives even after injuries or physical changes.

Losing part of an ear, whether from injury, medical treatment, or other circumstances, typically doesn't affect a cat's overall quality of life. They can still hear, play, explore, and do all the normal cat things without much trouble.

Cats are also very good at adjusting to their bodies as they are. They don't dwell on their differences the way humans might, which means they often carry on as if nothing has changed.

Fun fact: In many cases, kitties with visible differences, like a missing ear, actually become even more memorable and beloved because of their unique look.

So while Vincent's ear may be missing, his personality clearly isn't. And if anything, it just gives him one more reason to stand out… and a few extra stories to tell.
