Tencarva expands Southwest reach with purchase of Texas company

Tencarva Machinery Co. has continued its recent acquisition spree by purchasing WWaterTech Services Inc. to expand its reach in Oklahoma and Texas.

Tencarva, as is its pattern, did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.

Tencarva, based in Greensboro, specializes in water and wastewater treatment equipment. It has more than 580 employees across 34 locations in the Southeast and Midwest, including 113 employees in the Triad.

WWaterTech serves as a manufacturer's representative for water and wastewater equipment manufacturers and system suppliers. The company provides engineers with access to a comprehensive portfolio of water and wastewater process equipment from 60 vendors.

Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Waller, Texas, WWaterTech is led by owner and president Steve Holt. Holt will gradually move into an advisory role, with 15-year WWaterTech executive Wes Holt to lead the business as branch manager.

"The WWaterTech acquisition exemplifies an important part of our strategy to grow and diversify Tencarva's municipal presence across the US," Tencarva president Henry Ritchie said in a news release.

"With its strong position in Texas, one of the most attractive municipal markets in the country, and its high-quality original equipment manufacturer relationships, WWaterTech expands our reach in an important market and supports our continued growth in municipal end markets."

Steve Holt said WWaterTech "had opportunities over the years to partner with other organizations, but Tencarva stood out for all the right reasons."

"It was important to find a partner that recognized and shared our values. Tencarva is made up of water industry professionals with a strong track record of acquiring excellent companies and supporting them for the long term.

"This transaction allows our team to remain intact while adding resources and capabilities that will help WWaterTech continue to grow and better serve our principals, engineers, contractors and owners."

Tencarva's markets including the following brands: Southern Sales, Saladin Pump & Equipment, Hudson Pump & Equipment, ESSCO Service & Sales, Fischer Process, Uniguard Machine Guards, Tri-State Coating & Machine, Detroit Pump & Mfg. Co., Atlantic Valve & Equipment and Hoffman-Kane.

Tencarva has made at least 17 business acquisitions in its company history, including at least three since its financial involvement with Bessemer Investors began in 2021.

Tencarva announced in November that Henry Ritchie had been promoted to company president, following Ed Pearce's transition to chairman.

Pearce will continue to lead strategic initiatives for Tencarva. Ritchie has served as executive vice president since 2021 and has worked at Tencarva since 1988.
