Kia Slashes EV6 Prices For 2026

Kia has cut prices (and one model) in the EV6 lineup for 2026. Gone is the EV6 GT, the brand's performance-focused EV offering. Kia said in a statement that it would delay the fastest, priciest model "due to changing market conditions." In more straightforward terms, the automotive emissions have been deregulated and people are not buying EVs, especially fast, expensive ones, in America right now. Those that are get to enjoy a hefty $5,450 discount on the EV6.

With the EV's GT trim gone, the EV6 lineup now consists of the Light, Wind, and GT-Line trims. The lineup kicks off with the Light trim, starting at $39,445, and down a whopping $4,950 from last year. Meanwhile, the Wind and GT-Line trims, priced at $46,345 and $50,245, respectively, see the largest price cut: a full $5,450.

The price cuts come at a great time for buyers, and not just because of rising fuel prices. The EV6 was updated last year, with a few key revisions making it a more competent EV. There's a new headlight design, reworked bumpers, and updated wheels. Inside, a new ingotainment system dominates the dash, featuring standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can also add a fingerprint authentication system to the infotainment panel, adding an extra layer of security for in-car purchases and user preferences. Under the hood, a new, larger 84.0-kWh battery pack replaces last year's 77.4-kWh unit. Kia says that'll boost range some: the EPA estimates the larger pack nets 319 miles for RWD and 295 with AWD EV6s, up 9 and 13 miles, respectively, from last year's.
