These Are The Biggest Shows Coming to Netflix in May
April has just a few days left. The sun is out for spring, but there will be plenty of reasons to stay inside and watch TV. Here are the best shows coming out on Netflix in May!
Lord of the Flies (May 4)
Who remembers reading William Golding's novel in school? Lord of the Flies is one of the most taught books in classrooms, and now it's headed to Netflix as a series for the first time ever.
The famous story of a group of young boys who crash on an island and must figure out how to survive with their own set of rules is over 70 years old now. It's shocking that it hadn't been turned into a TV show until now.
Lord of the Flies already came out in the United Kingdom in February, and critics enjoyed the way the themes of childhood were combined with stunning visuals and a dedication to the source material.
Lox Pratt, who will be playing Draco Malfoy in the HBO Harry Potter series, is one of the main actors in this one.
Nemesis (May 14)
Crime drama is what Netflix does best. Nemesis should be one of the next big hits on the streaming service, as it features the creative direction of Power creator Courtney A. Kemp. This new show follows a thrilling battle for control between a cop and a criminal as they try to find ways to manipulate the other and come out on top.
The Boroughs (May 21)
The plot of The Boroughs is a little thinly described right now. Netflix is likely trying to capitalize on audience loyalty to the creators, the Duffer Brothers, who are obviously coming off completing the biggest show in the history of the streamer: Stranger Things.
The unpopularity of the final season may work against this series, but fans should give it a try. It stars a mismatched group of older heroes from a retirement community who come together to save themselves and the world from time itself.
Remembering how incredible the first seasons of Stranger Things were, it's likely that The Boroughs might just transport you back to those fuzzy memories.
