Ted Lasso Season 4 Trailer, Premiere Date Revealed
Ted Lasso is back...and he's still a "wanker."
On Tuesday, April 28, Apple TV released the first teaser for Season 4 of Ted Lasso, while also confirming the returning cast and the summer premiere date.
The show's return comes more than three years after the Season 3 finale, which saw Jason Sudeikis' titular coach step away from his duties at AFC Richmond and head home to the United States to be with his son.
Season 4 Teaser Trailer & Plot
In a press release, Apple TV confirmed the synopsis for Season 4 of the hit series.
Per the streamer, "Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would."
The trailer sees him step back on the pitch alongside Brendan Hunt's Coach Beard and newcomer Tanya Reynolds. The footage also shows Lasso's wife Michelle, and son Henry in the stands; Grant Feely now plays Henry.
While it seems Ted is thrilled to be back in action, he clearly has his work cut out for him when it comes to making his new team shine. As one fan tells him, "Welcome back, Coach. Too bad you're coaching a bunch of girls, you wanker."
The trailer also teases exes Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) reuniting in front of Jeremy Swift's Leslie Higgins, Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) sharing a kiss with the Dutchman, and Rebecca and Keeley once again teaming up.
Which Stars Are Back for Season 4?
Apple TV confirmed a number of new and returning stars will be on the new episodes.
In addition to Sudeikis, Hunt, Waddingham, Temple, Goldstein, and Swift, the footage confirms the return of Annette Badland as Mae Green, and AFC Richmond superfans Baz, Jeremy and Paul, who are now minor shareholders.
New cast additions, meanwhile, include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern. Tracy Ullman is also seen in the trailer in an undisclosed role.
A number of previous series regulars, however, are missing in action in both the footage and press release.
There's no mention of other UFC Richmond players-including Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) and Sam Obisanya (Toheeb Jimoh)-while Nate Shelley (Nick Mohammed), Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head), and Trent Crimm (James Lance) are also unaccounted for.
When Does Ted Lasso Season 4 Premiere?
According to Apple TV, Season 4 will premiere on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, with one episode. From there, new episodes will drop every Wednesday through October 7.
The first three seasons of Ted Lasso, meanwhile, are still streaming on Apple TV, globally.
Those episodes, of course, were a massive hit for the streamer, as the series went on to pick up 61 Primetime Emmy Award nominations throughout its run. Season 1 became the most Emmy-nominated comedy series of all time, picking up Outstanding Comedy Series Emmys in its first two seasons.
Sudeikis, Goldstein, Waddingham, and guest star Sam Richardson also took home acting Emmys for their work on the series.
