As a dog lover, it's genuinely almost impossible to find a dog I don't like. I think they're all so wholesome and beautiful, even though a Boxer did indeed knock me over and bite my leg when I was 7. I hesitate around them these days, but I love them even still.

There are some dogs who are a little more special than others, though. They just can't be topped! For example, this Mini Schnauzer whose amazing "split-face" coloring has him looking almost exactly like one of the phases of the moon:

Brandi's adorable Mini Schnauzer's name is Brad, but if I had named him, I would've gone with Gibby. Short for Waning Gibbous.

Brad is all grown up now, but he's been in his forever home since he was just a baby. His coloring has always been awesome, but as he's gotten older, it's become a lot more defined. These days, you can really see the difference in the sides! This is something we see a lot in cats, but in dogs? What a treat!

Brad may still look like a baby, but that's only because he's a Miniature Schnauzer. They look like puppies for their whole lives! This breed is certainly not rare; you can find them everywhere, and in lots of colors and sizes. But to find one as beautiful as Brad... Good luck!

Those zoomies are so awesome. Mini Schnauzers might be small, but they have a ton of energy! They're best with a caretaker who has plenty of time to play with them and get their energy out. If you're looking for a couch potato, they're not the breed for you.

Luckily, Brad gets everything he wants. With such a pretty coat, how could he not? It's impossible to say no to a dog who's basically one in a million.

What Makes Brad So Beautiful?

Mini Schnauzers come in all sorts of colors. There are some more common than others, like black and grey. By all accounts, Brad is technically a "common" color... So why is he so pretty?

There are a few things that could be the culprit when it comes to Brad's beauty, including:

  • Chimerism (which would explain the split face, but is extremely rare and can't be confirmed without genetic testing).
  • Mosaicism (which occurs in Merle dogs, though it's not confirmed that Brad is Merle).
  • Luck.

Though his mom has posted quite a few videos of him on her page, she hasn't given us any of the details about him. That's fine! I'll just choose to believe he's so beautiful because a fairy kissed him or something!
