Greensboros Guerrilla RF achieves profitable first quarter
Guerrilla RF, a Greensboro wireless semiconductor company, reported Wednesday achieving a profitable first quarter of fiscal 2026 at $1.1 million.
That's compared with a $3.5 million loss a year ago.
Guerrilla RF had diluted earnings of 6 cents, compared with a loss of 34 cents a year ago.
The company provides monolithic microwave integrated circuits for the automotive, 5G infrastructure and cellular booster markets.
Revenue jumped 47.7% to $6.5 million, primarily based on a 20.7% uptick from its catalog business to $4.8 million. International revenue grew to $2.2 million, representing one-third of total revenue.
Meanwhile, its operating expenses fell by 22% to $4.6 million.
"Our first-quarter results reflect the strongest start to a year in the company's history and demonstrate that our strategy is working," Ryan Pratt, Guerrilla RF's founder and chief executive, said in a news release.
"Operating loss narrowed to near breakeven, a $3.1 million improvement from the prior year. We enter the remainder of 2026 with an $8.8 million backlog and strong momentum as we continue to execute our business strategy."
Guerrilla RF has undergone a sizable workforce reduction this year, going from 66 local employees and 71 overall as recently as April 2025 to 47 at last count.
The company repeated in the third-quarter report its reduction in operating expenses "reflects the company's successful execution of its cost-realignment program, including targeted head count optimization, streamlined disciplinary spending and tighter capital controls."
Guerrilla RF ended the third quarter with $3.2 million in cash as of March 31, compared with $4 million on Sept. 30.
