Cook & Boardman turns to CBX Solutions brand as part of expansion initative

The Cook & Boardman Group, a Winston-Salem specialty distributor of commercial doors, said Monday it has changed its brand to CBX Solutions LLC as part of its ongoing national expansion initiative.

The company, founded in 1955, operates a network of more than 100 locations across 23 states with more than 3,000 employees.

CBX's headquarters is located in a 40,336-square-foot space in One West Fourth tower in downtown Winston-Salem with more than 100 employees.

CBX offers metal and wood doors, locks, door frames, and other related building components for multifamily and non-residential applications. Customers include the commercial, data centers, education, government, health care, office and hospitality sectors.

"The new name maintains a connection to the company's history, while allowing for a broader expression of its capabilities," the company said in a news release.

"The 'X' represents the many ways the company brings together disciplines, solves complex project needs and supports customers across the full lifecycle of their facilities."

Along with the brand change, CBX debuted a new website - CBXSolutions.com - to handle nationwide service demand, eCommerce and custom purchasing portals.

"CBX Solutions builds on the strength of what we've created over time," CBX chief executive David Eisner said.

"Our network has always been our advantage: deep expertise, strong local teams and long-standing customer relationships. This change brings that together under one name, making it easier for customers to access the full scope of what we offer."

The CBX brand is being rolled out at the corporate level first with offices switching over at a later date.

"Customers will continue working with the same (management) teams, now supported by a more connected organization," the company said.

CBX has made 17 individual company purchases since private-equity firm Platinum Equity acquired a majority interest in 2023.
