191 home development under construction on Robinson Road in Hickory

A 191-home development will begin selling sites in August, according to a press release from M/I Homes.

M/I Homes is building Tennison Crossing on 62 acres at 2211 Robinson Road, about a mile from a shopping center anchored by Target.

Hickory City Council approved a rezoning request for the site in December 2023, paving the way for the housing development.

Homes at the site will be ranch-style or two-story homes. Homes will range in size from 1,823 square feet to 3,112 square feet. The company did not provide a price range for the homes.

"Charlotte was one of the top metros in the country for job growth last year. We're developing communities to keep up with demand for single family homes and townhomes, with amenities that families enjoy," said Alan Beulah, area president of M/I Homes in Charlotte. "Entering the Hickory market is an exciting next step for us. While some builders are contracting, we plan to add personnel this year."

M/I Homes has communities in Mooresville, Sherrills Ford and other properties around the country.
