Cane Corsos may not be known for being friendly to strangers - understatement of the year - but this giant breed is the definition of loyal when it comes to familiar faces and family. A social media-savvy Cane Corso named David (how cute is that?) was the perfect gentleman during a recent trip to Target when his favorite checker spotted him. Cue the cuteness. This Cane Corso is a charmer.

In a video shared to social media by David's humans, the lovable Cane Corso can be seen entering the checkout line at his local Target. David clearly knows the drill: you come to Target for one thing, and you leave with a full cart.

However, this big dog also gets to leave his local Target with a full heart because his favorite checker greets him with such a warm welcome, it's no wonder David is so happy during shopping trips.

"Where's David?" the cheerful checker says as David and his family approach. David immediately ditches his cart duties and heads straight to the counter, props himself up, and showers the Target employee with affectionate hugs and scratches.

David couldn't be friendlier.

Cane Corso's Sweet Target Video Has the Internet Smiling

Sure, this is a heartwarming dog video, but there's something deeper happening here. Not only is David showing off how a Cane Corso's bark can be much scarier than its bite, but the loving exchange also highlights a dog's incredible ability to create community and connection wherever they go.

A dog of this size undoubtedly gets a lot of attention and curious looks and is probably caught on strangers' iPhones regularly. But dogs also help humans create connection in the world around them. From a trip to Target to a neighborhood walk, David is more than just a dog - he's an ambassador, creating shared moments and turning strangers into friends.

Nearly 150,000 people have liked David's Target shopping video, and hundreds have shared comments expressing how much joy the sweet interaction brought them.

Viewers were especially charmed by the checker's enthusiasm upon seeing the big dog. His immediate "Where's David?" before even greeting the humans had commenters completely entertained. Others loved that the employee used the dog's full "government name," calling the interaction the exact kind of kindness and sweetness people never get tired of seeing online.

If there were ever a case for all the happiness dogs bring into the lives of humans - and their favorite Target checkers - David's viral dog video makes it perfectly.

And kudos to the lovely gentleman working the Target counter that day for taking the time to greet all his customers, not just the human ones.
