Netflix To Remove 'Brockmire' From Platform in June 2026
Another one bites the streaming dust. IFC sitcom Brockmire is leaving Netflix early this summer. The four-season comedy is based on a character created by star Hank Azaria for a 2010 comedic web series. It premiered on IFC on April 5, 2017, with the series bowing out on May 6, 2020.
Azaria plays the titular Jim Brockmire, "a famous Major League Baseball announcer who suffers an embarrassing public meltdown on the air after discovering his wife's serial infidelity. A decade later, he tries to reclaim his career and love life in a small town, calling minor league ball for the Morristown, Pennsylvania Frackers."
Rounding out the rest of the cast is Amanda Peet as Jules James, Tyrel Jackson Williams as Charles, Hemky Madera as Pedro, Tawny Newsome as Gabby, Reina Hardesty as Beth, and J.K. Simmons as Matt. Joel Church-Cooper developed the series and served as executive producer alongside Azaria.
The critically acclaimed sitcom (sitting pretty with a 98 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes) arrived on Netflix on Dec. 3, 2025, so its run will last less than a year. It's also available in other regions across the globe, including the UK, Australia, Latin America, and New Zealand.
So, why is Brockmire leaving the streamer after only six months? Like every removal on Netflix that isn't an original series, the licensing rights are expiring. What's on Netflixhas shared that other popular titles, such as the five-season NBC drama Blindspot, Mrs. Doubtfire, the Fifty Shades film trilogy, and Canadian sitcom Kim's Convenience, are also departing the platform in June.
Be sure to binge all 32 episodes of this beloved comedy before it waves goodbye on June 3, 2026.
