This year has been brutal for TV fans. From Netflix dramas to network favorites on NBC, a surprising number of beloved shows have been canceled in 2026—often just as viewers were getting fully invested. And while nothing softens the blow of losing a comfort watch or cliffhanger-filled binge, finding your next obsession definitely helps.

Whether you’re mourning a thriller, sitcom or daytime talk show, we’ve rounded up smart replacements that capture the same vibe and will make the post-cancellation heartbreak a little easier to handle.

Keep reading to find out which TV shows will not be returning for an upcoming season and what you can enjoy in its place!

If you loved ‘The Night Agent,’ on Netflix you should try…

‘Reacher’

Although it’s a Prime Video watch, Reacher is a strong pick if you’re looking to fill the gap left by The Night Agent. While The Night Agent—which broke out with a massive Season 1 debut in 2023 and is now set to return for a fourth and final season—will be wrapping up Peter’s story, fans still facing the end of that world may want something with a similar mix of action, conspiracy, and high-stakes tension.

Reacher follows former Military Police Officer Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson), who finds himself falsely accused of murder. What starts as a wrongful arrest quickly pulls him into a web of corrupt cops, shady businessmen and buried secrets. With three seasons already available to binge on Prime Video and more on the way, it delivers plenty of the same punchy, twist-heavy storytelling to keep you hooked.

‘The Recruit’

Another show you can dive into is The Recruit on Netflix. Although this series was cancelled after two seasons, you can still enjoy the episodes on the streaming platform. An inexperienced CIA lawyer finds himself in the midst of a dangerous international politics game when a former asset threatens to expose her relationship with the agency, unless her name is cleared.

During his first week in the CIA, Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo) finds himself in over his head as he tries to navigate the situation.

If you loved NBC’s ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime,’ you should try…

‘Chicago P.D.’

Also created by Dick Wolf, Chicago P.D. is a natural next watch if you’re looking to fill the gap left by Law & Order: Organized Crime. While the Law & Order spinoff wrapped up after five seasons this spring, Chicago P.D. is still going strong and currently in its thirteenth season, with more episodes on the way.

The series follows the Chicago Police Department’s Intelligence Unit, led by Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), as they tackle the city’s most serious crimes—from drug trafficking and organized crime to high-profile murders. As they work to protect Chicago, they’re constantly forced to adapt to a shifting criminal justice landscape, where the rules aren’t always clear and the stakes are high.

Of course, you can always tune into the sister shows of Organized Crime, including Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

If you loved NBC’s ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ you should try…

‘The Drew Barrymore Show’

After seven seasons, The Kelly Clarkson Show is coming to an end. While the daytime hit has been hugely popular, Clarkson has chosen to step back to focus on her kids and family following the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. If you’re looking for something to fill that daytime talk show slot, The Drew Barrymore Show is an easy next pick.

Hosted by Drew Barrymore, the show leans into positivity, warmth, and feel-good conversation. She welcomes both celebrity guests and everyday people, blending human interest stories with lifestyle segments and her signature upbeat energy. With the show already renewed for its seventh and eighth seasons, there are plenty of episodes to dive into—and even more still to come.

‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’

Another daytime talk show worth diving into is The Jennifer Hudson Show. Hosted by EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson, the series blends celebrity interviews with timely stories, uplifting features, and spotlights on community heroes.

One standout—and fan-favorite—segment is the “Spirit Tunnel,” where staff members line the hallway to create a high-energy, choreographed entrance for guests. Each one is often personalized to celebrate who’s walking through, and the moments have quickly become viral hits across social media.
