Chris Jericho Ranked 16th Among the Greatest WWE Wrestlers by GiveMeSport
Throughout the history of WWE, there have been many wrestlers who have spent years entertaining fans and enjoying immense success. However, only a small number of them can be considered among the best to ever perform for the company. Chris Jericho has recently been named among that elite group of WWE wrestlers, even though he has often been underrated in the past.
Who Ranked Chris Jericho as One of the ‘Greatest WWE Wrestlers in History?'
On May 2, 2026, the website GiveMeSport updated its list of the "35 Greatest WWE Superstars in History." The list, which features the most iconic WWE superstars ever, named Chris Jericho at No. 16. While he didn't make the top 10, being included on lists like that at all is a huge deal for anyone who made the cut.
Another way to quantify what made Jericho's ranking such a huge compliment is to consider some of the performers he was ranked above. A slew of WWE Hall of Famers who are widely regarded as true legends were placed lower on the list. Some of those names include Dusty Rhodes, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Edge, Mick Foley, Andre the Giant, CM Punk, Trish Stratus, and Batista.
What Makes Chris Jericho An Underrated Great?
After many years of Chris Jericho entertaining WWE fans, he has long been noted as one of the most popular WWE wrestlers of his generation. Still, there is a very strong argument that he deserves to make any shortlist of the best WWE superstars of all time.
In June 2018, Bleacher Report published an article titled "WWE: Why Chris Jericho Is One of the Best of All Time" for good reason. The thing that makes Jericho an all-time great is that he always had one goal in mind: entertaining fans. After all, he was able to consistently make viewers laugh, be entertained by his moves in the ring, and root for him whenever he wanted. The same wrestler who inspired people to scream "you just made the list" alongside him also managed to enrage WWE fans enough that he was once attacked in a parking lot.
A Grand Slam Champion who won nearly every WWE title and accolade, he held more belts than almost anyone else in company history. More importantly, he created a virtually endless list of moments that delighted, angered, and/or entertained viewers. Whether it was his vicious feud against Shawn Michaels, his iconic debut in the company, or when he beat Triple H for the title only to have it ripped away, he created unforgettable moments. His career was also highlighted by his epic theme song, constant reinvention, and all the other wrestlers he helped make stars. It is about time that Jericho's status as one of the best to ever do it is rightfully celebrated.
