NBA Hall of Famer coming to Collectors Jam in Concord

CONCORD - A fast-growing collectibles event is set to return to Cabarrus County next month, bringing hundreds of vendors, live auctions and a high-profile sports guest to the area.

Sports Wax Promotions will host its three-day Collectors Jam show June 5-7 at Cabarrus Arena & Event Center, an event organizers describe as the largest collectibles show in the Carolinas.

The show is expected to feature more than 600 tables filled with sports cards, comics, trading card games, memorabilia and a wide range of pop culture items, from vintage toys and retro video games to Pokémon and Funko Pop collectibles.

NBA Hall of Famer Allen Iverson is scheduled to appear during the weekend, a draw organizers say will attract collectors and basketball fans from across the region.

"This is more than a card show - it's a full-scale collector experience built for the hobby at every level," said James Ferree, founder of Sports Wax Promotions. "From serious buyers and longtime collectors to families and first-time attendees, Collectors Jam brings together the energy, community and excitement that make this industry so special."

Presented by Pristine Auction, the event will also include live auctions throughout the weekend, adding another layer of activity to what has become one of the region's fastest-growing hobby gatherings.

Sports Wax Promotions launched in 2021 with a modest show of 35 tables and fewer than 200 attendees. Since then, the company has expanded its events into large-scale showcases drawing thousands of collectors from across the country.

Organizers say the Concord event is designed to appeal to both dedicated hobbyists and casual visitors. In addition to buying, selling and trading, attendees can visit a designated trade zone, connect with buyers purchasing collections and participate in giveaways.

The event will also include appearances by Pokémon characters Pikachu, Gengar and Eevee, aimed at younger fans and families.

Collectors looking for professional services will be able to submit items for grading on-site through GemMint.com, a PSA-authorized dealer.

Tickets are available online and at the door. Organizers expect strong attendance from vendors and visitors traveling from across the country.
