Before this baby has even arrived, these two cats have claimed the little one's bassinet as their own and are even waiting in line to take turns with it.

Cats love baby stuff!
We have seen many videos on this site of cats taking baby beds, strollers, swings, and cribs as their own.
Heck, we have even seen a few kitties share a crib with a baby just because they love that comfy bed so much.
Or, as we have also seen, cats feel very protective of babies and may want to be in close proximity to them. It melts your heart!
So why do cats love baby bassinets?
Well, first of all, cats are naturally curious, so if there's something new in their environment, they're probably going to check it out.
This baby hadn't arrived yet, but it often has a new-baby smell, which is intriguing to them.
This bassinet also looks especially cozy with all the blankets.
Though this makes for a very funny and adorable cat video, this is actually a smart strategy to help introduce your cat to this new family addition.
It's good to let the kitty explore the baby's items when the baby isn't using them, so if you bring the crib or other supplies home before the baby arrives, be sure to let the fur children explore.
Give your cat space to adjust to the new addition.
Also, don't corner them or restrain them and force them to get close to the baby.
They need to approach the little one on their own terms, and if that takes days or weeks, then so be it.
Clearly, these two kitties may be a bit miffed when someone else starts sleeping in their bed, but maybe they will all just share.
