Little Lady is the name, and being her baby sibling's guardian is her game! The precious bird took to the infant immediately, and their bond gets stronger with each passing day. Maybe she thinks the tiny human came from an egg she can't remember laying, or she's infatuated with the cuteness.
Whatever her reason, Little Lady answered the call, and she's crushing it!

Why This Tiny Bird's Devotion Proves That 'Flock' Means Family
Cockatiels are incredibly social, intelligent, and affectionate birds who see their humans as their flock. They form deep bonds with their favorite people, just as they'd do in the wild among their feathered friends.
Connection can look like a few different things with these sweet birds. They might preen or groom your hair or skin because they trust you. Sitting perched on your shoulder or following you from room to room is common and helps them feel secure.
They might even create a call or whistle meant only for their flock (aka YOU!), which is how they'd communicate with their flock in the wild.
@sarahsgotbirds this was a very supervised interaction with a bird I know very well. I was reading her body language and trust she was not going to bite. Baby was also not going to grab or hit birds yet, she's too young. I know to probably keep distance between the two when baby gets old and there's a higher chance of her grabbing and harming my bird. Just until baby understands safe interaction. #firsttimemom#cockatiel#talkingbird#petsandbabies#petparrot

You can tell by watching Little Lady that Cockatiels make amazing first birds for families because of their ability to read our emotions and have deep empathy, much like dogs. They can sense stress and offer comfort in the sweetest of ways.
Those who are hand-reared form the strongest bonds with humans and might think of themselves as humans, too. It's a cool sentiment, really, and a great privilege to be part of their flock.
If you ask Little Lady, she'd probably say there are no birds in her house! Now that she's a big sister, this precious girl knows it's her job to always love and protect her new sibling, and that's the best job of all.
