With unwavering loyalty and intelligence, German shepherds are fierce companions for any home. While they are known for their roles as police dogs because of their incredible athleticism and trainability, they're just another cuddly dog breed that loves their human.

However, just because these gentle giants love a good cuddle doesn't mean they ever let their guard down against potential danger. Take it from Maverick, a loveable German shepherd that loves to cuddle in his mom's arms. But like any good guard dog, it only takes one odd noise for this teddy bear to turn into a bodyguard real quick.

Not one to shy away from danger, Maverick is always ready to protect and defend his home. Even if that means interrupting cuddle time with mom.

Caught in the arms of his human, Maverick quickly went into protector mode when he heard an abrupt sound entering his home. Like any good guard dog, Maverick quickly sat up, perked his ears, and barked loud enough to scare everyone. Thankfully, it looks like just another false alarm, but now the entire internet knows not to mess with this cuddlebug's family.

"They interrupted his cuddles, he was mad as hell," commented one viewer.

Another user joked, "The dog: Im serious let go I heard something."

"That's a good dog who will protect you always," stated a third commenter.

While we don't know exactly what the "danger" was, at least we know that Maverick is always ready to report to duty like a good boy.
