Radiohead's 'Creep' Reaches No. 24 on Billboard Rock Streaming Chart After 33 Years

Over 33 years after its release, one of the most iconic grunge tracks of all time is suddenly back in the charts. Thanks to young listeners bringing it back to life, "Creep" by Radiohead is climbing an important Billboard chart.

Radiohead's ‘Creep' Is Suddenly Surging in Popularity Again After 33 Years

The classic grunge track "Creep" by Radiohead has climbed the Billboard Rock Streaming chart and currently sits at No. 24. The song also reached even higher on the chart earlier this year, including when it hit No. 10 the week ending March 14, 2026. Ultimately, it has spent a total of 75 weeks on that chart.

Originally released on September 21, 1992, "Creep" is the best-known track from Radiohead's debut studio album, Pablo Honey. The song first reached the Billboard Hot 100 on June 25, 1993, and peaked at No. 34 on September 4 of the same year. Ultimately, the track has spent 20 weeks in total on the Billboard Hot 100.

Why Radiohead's 'Creep' Is Suddenly Charting Again

One of a handful of songs that define the grunge era of rock music for many people, "Creep" has long been considered a classic track. Even though fans have celebrated it for many years, that alone wouldn't be enough to make it suddenly a success again. Instead, the track has taken the Billboard Rock Streaming chart by storm due to TikTok.

According to a Parade article about "Creep" becoming popular again, TikTok is the driving force behind the song's resurgence. The outlet notes that only two of the trending "Creep" audios alone have been used in over 577,400 clips on TikTok.

Billboard's streaming charts aren't directly affected by how many times songs get used in TikTok clips. Instead, those charts are decided based on audio and video streams from services like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and more. However, it is well-documented that songs going viral on TikTok can be directly correlated to explosions in the track being streamed on those services.

Other factors have also played a role in "Creep" enjoying an incredible amount of longevity, including the fact that it has been played in a slew of movies and TV shows. According to WhatSong, the track appeared in two episodes of The WONDERfools, the series that recently became a worldwide hit after premiering on Netflix.
