There's a good chance you're familiar with the "bedroom chair." You know, the chair in the corner of your room that you put there optimistically while telling yourself, "This could be a nice place to read a book," but instead, it's always covered in lightly-worn clothes? (I'm looking at mine right now, and it isn't cute.)

Well, one social media creator just came up with an unexpected alternative spot for tossing your half-dirty clothes (or pajamas, towels and bathrobes), and her video has racked up millions of views - read on for the details.

How This Creator Is Using a Vintage Quilt Rack to Store Clothes

Geevie Wood (known as @geeviesplace on social media) recently posted a video about her bedroom chair alternative, which has racked up more than 694,000 views on TikTok and 4.5 million views on Instagram.

"Ditch the bedroom chair and get yourself a quilt rack," Wood captioned her video. As she explained, she bought a vintage wrought iron quilt rack on Facebook Marketplace - and in her video, she put it against the wall in her bedroom, and used it to hang her robe and pajamas. Not only can hanging clothes on a quilt rack look neater and more intentional than tossing them on a chair, but it can also help better air out your garments.

"Spontaneous marketplace find!" she wrote in the caption. "Although it was unexpected, this quilt rack solved my problem of not knowing what to do with this space for the past 10 months of living here! I was literally putting my robe on the floor because we don't have hooks on our doors (yet)."

Commenters Think This Hack Is Genius

In the comments, people expressed their love for Wood's idea - especially as a place to toss half-dirty clothes.

"It's so much better than my pile of clothes in the hidden corner of our bedroom ," one person wrote on Instagram. "Omg thank you!!!! I have been searching for a solution for months and nothing felt quite right!! This is the perfect fix. How clever!" someone else commented.

A few others shared that they've been doing the same thing as Wood, while others offered their suggestions.

"There is a piece of furniture called a 'butler' or a 'valet' that is basically this but about half the size," an Instagram commenter explained, adding that she and her husband each have their own for lightly-worn clothes. A TikTok commenter added that a "radiator rack does the same thing."

Meanwhile, another TikTok commenter suggested using a simple coat stand instead, noting that it's "probably cheaper and more functional." Plus, a coat rack might be easier to find secondhand, as it's more common than a quilt rack.
