Four Tiny Bear Cubs Were Caught ‘Purring' While Nursing-and People Can't Get Enough
Living in bear country means being on high alert during the spring and summer, but spotting magical sights like a mama bear nursing her cubs makes the effort worthwhile. Typically, bears want just as little to do with people as we do with them, but a few lucky people, like @mandy_mayhugh, get to see their animal neighbors often.
On May 23, Mandy couldn't help but watch in awe from the deck of a house in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, when she spotted four black bear cubs nursing from their exhausted mama. As if that wasn't precious enough, she also noticed the bear cubs 'purring' happily as they nursed. You'll want to turn the volume up for this one!
@mandy_mayhugh Here is the 1st video of the cubs making the sweet noise when nursing on momma...Such an incredible experience here in Gatlinurg!!!#gatlinburg#cubs#mommabear

How sweet are these cubs? This mama bear certainly has her paws full with these quadruplets, but at least she can lie back and relax while her babies have their meal. As long as they're purring and nursing, she knows they're safe!
"She needs an iced latte and a few minutes alone," commenter @harristl2 joked. I'm sure many moms can relate! Looking after four rambunctious black bear cubs is no easy task, but fortunately, she'll only be looking after them for about a year.

This adorable bear cub video also reminded viewers like @lost_and_found that they've never actually seen this side of bear parenthood before. She commented, "I'm 56, and I just realized I've never seen a mama bear like this before. Thank you so much for sharing this."
It's also an immense honor for Mandy that this mama bear felt safe enough to feed her cubs in her yard. This certainly isn't the first wildlife encounter she's had in her own backyard, and it won't be the last either!
Bear Cubs Purring-Why Do They Do It?
This mama bear nursing cubs is already the sweetest sight, but the cubs' priceless purring is the cherry on top. There's no question these are four happy bears! Mandy's home video captures a beautiful, vulnerable moment between mom and babies that not even nature documentaries can capture.

Commenter @zenbadass thought "they sound like a hive of honey bees," while others were reminded of motorcycles, humming birds, and purring cats. Whatever these baby bears sound like to you, there's no way to deny just how cute they are. When they're giving their mom a hard time, though, she may not feel the same way!
