Tanger continues buying spree with Ohio shopping center
Tanger Inc. has continued its buying spree by purchasing the Town Center at Levis Commons for $60 million, the Greensboro outlet center operator said Thursday.
The open-air shopping center in Toledo, Ohio, contains 300,000 square feet of retail space.
The purchase is Tanger's fifth outlet center purchase since 2022, including four open-air shopping centers. Tanger has outlet centers in Mebane, Blowing Rock and Asheville.
"The acquisition reflects our continued focus on adding market dominant, open-air retail destinations where we see meaningful opportunity to grow value," Stephen Yalof, Tanger's president and chief executive, said in a news release.
The shopping center has a 97% occupancy rate with tenants that include Anthropologie, Sephora, Lululemon, Shake Shack, Starbucks, Athleta, Cinemark, Drybar, Ethan Allen and Arhaus.
"The Perrysburg submarket is one of Ohio's most desirable communities for families, professionals and business development, supporting a rapidly growing, affluent customer base," Yalof said.
The previous most recent purchase took place in September and involved Legends Outlets in Kansas City, Kan., for $130 million. The renamed Tanger Kansas City at Legends is a 690,000-square-foot, open-air outlet mall - the only such mall in Kansas.
Tanger's other open-air lifestyle retail centers are Pinecrest in Cleveland, the Promenade at Chenal in Little Rock, Ark., and Bridge Street Town Centre in Huntsville, Ala.
Tanger's portfolio now includes 38 outlet centers and five open-air lifestyle centers featuring more than 16 million square feet of retail space.
