Mechanics Rescue Tiny Calico Kitten From Car Engine and Everyone's Emotional
What started as a normal repair appointment quickly turned into a full-blown kitten rescue after mechanics discovered tiny cries coming from inside a customer's car.
And honestly, the tiny Calico kitten they pulled out is so little that the kitty barely looks real.
@milexgreenvillesc Not your typical repair today..we rescued a cat hiding inside a customer's car during cooler nights or months make sure to tap your hood or honk your horn before starting your car to keep our furry friends safe #autorepair#greenvillesc#carcare#gvlsc#yeahthatgreenvillesc

TikTok user @milexgreenvillesc shared the emotional clip of mechanics carefully working to free the tiny kitten from underneath the vehicle.
The caption explained:
"Not your typical repair today… We rescued a cat hiding inside a customer's car."
The shop also shared an important reminder:
"During cooler nights or months, make sure to tap your hood or honk your horn before starting your car to keep our furry friends safe."

The video shows mechanics carefully working under the front valance until they finally pull the frightened little kitten to safety.
And honestly, the moment the office worker holds the tiny Calico is unbelievably sweet, especially because her shirt almost perfectly matches the kitten's coloring, like the universe already assigned them together.
People in the Comments Immediately Started Making Jokes:
• "Is this that [the] catalytic converter people talk about?"
• "My car didn't come with a cat."
But the Best Update Came From the Kitten's New Mom Herself:
• "Seems my cat is famous."
• "This is Goldfish! She is happy, healthy, and crazy, lol!"
She also shared an updated photo showing the once frightened kitten thriving in her new home.
Honestly, Goldfish may be one of the greatest kitten names of all time.
The comments also turned unexpectedly educational after one person asked an important question:
"If you hear a feline in your car, how do you know it's safe to drive to the mechanic?"
Another commenter answered seriously:
• "It's super dangerous to drive with them."
• "Raise the hood and start calling and listening to make sure nothing is inside."
And honestly, it's an important reminder because frightened cats and kittens sometimes crawl into warm engines for safety, especially during colder weather.
Meanwhile, my Maine Coon, Meatball, once got trapped INSIDE a recliner and screamed like a Victorian ghost for 20 minutes, so cats continue finding the most terrifying hiding places imaginable.
Why Do Cats Hide Inside Car Engines?
@thehonestvet Kitten season safety reminder! Cats and kittens often crawl into car engines for warmth or shelter, especially in cooler mornings or rainy weather. Before starting your car, tap the hood, honk the horn, or give a few firm knocks to scare away any hidden stowaways. If you think there's a cat or kitten in your engine: Do NOT drive Pull over immediately and turn off the engine Call your local fire department or animal control for safe removal (This client was a block away from the clinic and thought she heard a meow. She slowed down, thought she might be crazy, but then heard it again so she pulled into our driveway.) Shoutout to my incredible team for rushing to help and ensure the kitten wasn't injured or overheating. Love these girls sooooo much. And we are also so thankful to for rushing in to help us save this little guy. Never try to extract a scared cat or kitten yourself; it can be dangerous for both of you. Sharing this could save a life this season. #TheHonestVet#VetMed#KittenSeason#TapYourHood#PetSafety#VeterinarianTips#CatLovers#Cars#Engines#PetCare

Cats and kittens sometimes climb into vehicle engines or wheel wells because the spaces feel warm, enclosed, and safe, especially during cold or rainy weather.
Animals May Hide in Cars To:
• Stay warm
• Avoid predators
• Shelter from rain
• Sleep safely overnight
• Explore enclosed spaces
Animal Rescue Organizations Recommend:
• Knocking on the hood before driving
• Honking briefly
• Checking around the tires and wheel wells
• Listening carefully for cries or movement
And thankfully for little Goldfish, this scary situation ended with exactly the kind of happy ending everyone hoped for.
