'Final Fantasy Rebirth' Fans Should Mark Their Calendars For Summer Game Fest

It's been more than six years now since the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Project began with the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake in 2020. The next entry, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, was released in February 2024, and since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting the final entry. It now appears that the final game in the trilogy may be revealed very soon.

According to reputable (and infamous) leaker NatetheHate, the currently unnamed Final Fantasy 7 RemakePart 3 game will be revealed at Summer Game Fest on Friday during the Opening Night Live presentation. "I expect it will be at SGF," said NatetheHate when asked about the game.

NatetheHate briefly clarified his statement, writing, "I've heard it is at SGF," when asked if he expected it would be there (a prediction) or if he had heard it would be there (a leak).

Normally, fans should be advised to take all rumors and leaks with a grain of salt, but NatetheHate's impressive and accurate track record for correct early information is unparalleled in the video game industry. Earlier this year, NatetheHate leaked a lot of the upcoming Nintendo releases for 2026 and maybe even part of 2027, some of which have already come true, like the new Star Fox game from Nintendo releasing in June.

It's also reasonable to assume Square Enix would finally show the game off at this major event, given how open game director Naoki Hamaguchi has been regarding the game's development progress. He has also reassured fans that development is going smoothly.

If the game does get announced at Summer Game Fest, it will likely be a title reveal and a release window reveal, but actual gameplay or a full trailer seems a little unlikely, and those things may happen down the road in September at Tokyo Game Show or even in December at The Game Awards, depending on when Square Enix is planning on releasing the game.

The currently unnamed Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 title is currently in development with no announced release date.
