The Ridglan Farms rescue Beagles were destined for lives as breeding dogs and laboratory dogs, but months of protests and negotiations eventually led to the rescue of 1,500 Beagles on April 28. The sweet but scared pups were swept away to new, loving homes just like Ms. B's, where a shy little girl named Juniper quickly learned just how wonderful human companionship can be.

On May 25, the teacher and dog mom introduced her viewers to Juniper, who'd only been home for a few days before she felt ready to ask for a cuddle. Luckily, her new mama was more than happy to oblige! The sweet senior pup had already spent seven years without cuddles or affection, but that was all about to change.

Poor Juniper still seems so scared and shy, but it's clear she's on the right path if she's already this comfortable with her mama. Watching her soak up all the love is like a dream come true!

"Ugh, every time I see one of the Ridglan Beagles in a real home, my heart bursts," commenter @kennedyroester agrees. "So glad these puppies are finally getting all the love they didn't know existed."

Understandably, Juniper, or Junie B., has spent her first few days at home sleeping and decompressing. Most rescue pets take at least 3 days to themselves before interacting with new friends or exploring new surroundings, though some traumatized pets may need even longer. There's no single 'right' timeline for pet adoption, which is why patience and love are key to success.

"My sister has a Ridglan Beagle," @byheathermarie shared. "They celebrated when he tore up a blanket because he was actually acting like a puppy!" That's exactly the kind of love and encouragement that every rescue dog deserves.

What Happened at Ridglan Farms?

Ridglan Farms is an animal breeding facility that sells dogs to laboratories and research centers. It's been a center of controversy for years, though clashes between protesters and police in March and April 2026 gave this case more attention than ever. Several people were injured in the protests, but hundreds of news outlets followed the important, ever-evolving story.

On April 28, several animal rescue organizations teamed up to negotiate the release of 1500 dogs. Ridglan Farms still has roughly 500 Beagles in its care, though it has agreed to surrender its breeding license in July.

Now, thousands of Beagles like Junie B. are getting a fresh start. They may be learning how to be a dog for the very first time, but they're also experiencing more love and joy than they ever knew possible.
