The numbers 82-0 are trending, but why? It's a new basketball game that has gone viral on social media, and fans say it's "addicting."

Where can you play the 82-0 game? At www.82-0.com. The game is broken down into two options. The classic game's instructions say: "Draft with full player stats visible - make informed picks." HoopIQ is the other option.

Indiana Pacers Guard Tyrese Hailburton is among the NBA players who have played the online game.

How Do You Play the 82-0 Basketball Game?

The website explains how to play the 82-0 basketball game. "Build the ultimate NBA all-time team and see if you can go 82-0!" the website says.

"It uses a randomizer to select a decade and a franchise -- and then you select a player from that team in that decade," Yahoo Sports reported. "For example, if 1960s Warriors is what you get, you can take (Wilt) Chamberlain."

Explains the website, "The objective of 82-0 is to construct a historical NBA roster capable of achieving a perfect undefeated season. Your success is determined by a non-linear simulation engine that evaluates the raw statistical output of five selected legends against a full 82-game schedule."

Roster Construction Is 'Governed by Era Diversity' in the 82-0 Game

The website breaks play down into the draft, building your lineup, and team writing. "Roster construction is governed by era diversity. To finalize a lineup and trigger the simulation, you must select exactly one player from each of the following decades," the website says, listing decades from the 1960s through the 2020s.

"The engine ignores subjective rankings and focuses exclusively on historical performance data from each player's peak within their decade," the website adds.

  • "Select one player from that era to add to your roster."
  • "Complete all 5 rounds to fill your starting lineup."

Building Your Lineup

  • "Fill all 5 positions: PG, SG, SF, PF, C."
  • "Tap a player to select, then choose their position."

Team Rating

  • "Rated on PPG, RPG, APG, SPG, and BPG - higher stats win more games."
  • "Missing defensive stats from older eras are estimated fairly."
  • "Aim for the perfect 82-0 season!"

"Can you go 82-0?" the website concludes.

NBA Fans Described the 82-0 Game as 'Addicting'

Fans shared their obsession with the game online. "No idea who made this game, but it's extremely fun and addicting. Thank me later," wrote one fan on X.

"I think I have successfully built the worst 82-0 team possible. Any challengers?" another person wrote.

Some fans questioned the lineups that go 82-0, and the ones that don't.

"I've had a starting 5 that included 2010s Bron, 90s Jordan and 90s Shaq ..... BUT THIS IS THE ONE THAT GOES 82-0????? lol," wrote another fan.

Other fans questioned whether Wilt Chamberlain was necessary to go 82-0 in a lineup.

"The 82-0 game ruined my life," wrote another person.

"I got the most mid 82-0 of all time," joked a fan.
