This Maine Coon Mom Loves Her Kittens So Hard She Nearly Squishes Them, and Commenters Are Losing It
It's hard not to fall head-over-heels over newborn kittens, especially when they're as sweet and cuddly as Gaia's babies. This proud mama cat from Lehi, Utah, welcomed her first litter of kittens nearly two weeks ago, and she couldn't be more thrilled. In fact, she gets so excited to show off her little ones that she nearly squishes them in the process!
Greek Garden Maine Coons shared a priceless video of Gaia loving on her babies on May 29, and no one can get enough. This first-time mom has earned over 4 million views in a matter of days! Fortunately, no kittens were injured in the process, though one of them experienced his first roller coaster ride at just a week old.

Giaia made me so happy, but so nervous! There isn't a doubt in my mind that she adores her Maine Coon kittens more than life itself, but she's still learning how to express that love in a safe and productive way. It's a good thing she has human friends there to keep an eye on things for now!
Many viewers can relate to this new mom's big feelings, especially around such cute kittens. I agree wholeheartedly with @felony_melanie, who recognized, "Cute aggression. She's like, 'They are so cute. I'm gonna jump into a puddle of them and roll around."

I'll join, too! Meeting a litter of kittens could make anyone's day, but even Gaia isn't immune to the babies' cuteness. Let's hope their relationship is always so close!
Mama Cats Obsessed With Their Kittens
"Honestly, after watching my mama cat with hers, I'm surprised how kittens survive," commenter @kirtstyxmichelle admitted. "They are sat on, stood on, lay on, picked up, and dropped!" Luckily, newborn kittens' bodies are built for mishaps exactly like this, so it's not often that a mama cat accidentally injures their baby.
Other cat parents like @proceedwithoutcaution are just as surprised by how resilient kittens can be-and how obsessive mama cats can be! She wrote, "When my cat gave birth to her baby, she was so obsessed with him she'd sit on him by accident and then panic because she can't find him."

Sleep deprivation and the newborn trenches can get to any parent! Luckily, cats like Gaia instinctually know everything they need to care for their babies, and they learn a little bit more every day. Soon, she'll groom her babies instead of rolling in them!
