Alexander Zverev's Girlfriend Sophie Thomalla Dated Another High Profile Celebrity
Professional tennis player Alexander Zverev and his model German girlfriend Sophie Thomalla are so close that they have a secret handshake. They have gushed about each other in interviews and on social media.
That's a far cry from his previous relationship, which produced controversy and court actions along with a daughter.
However, Zverev is not the only high-profile celebrity that Thomalla has dated.

Before connecting with Zverez, who was battling it out in the French Open 2026 on June 5, Thomalla dated Gwen Stefani's ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, according to People.
That was Rossdale's first romance after his break up with Stefani, and Rossdale and Thomalla were spotted kissing, People reported, although a friend told the magazine, "They're friends, introduced by a mutual friend."
According to People, they eventually confired the relationship on Instagram and it lasted about a year before petering out.

Thomalla explained in an interview to Grazia why her relationships haven't all worked out.
"All the men I had something with broke up with me because in the end they couldn't stand it anymore," she told Grazia, describing herself as "extremely independent," and explaining "how many men don't like that in the long run."
That article says she is a native of Berlin, Germany. "All the men I've been with broke up with me because, in the end, they couldn't handle me anymore. While I'm easygoing when it comes to dealing with problems, I'm still a very particular type of person-extremely self-reliant and independent-and that's something many men don't like in the long run," she told Grazia.
In that interview, she revealed that she had kissed a woman before too, saying, "I could also imagine sleeping with a woman. Women are beautiful creatures and look much better naked than men do, don't they?"

However, Zverev has described her as a positive for his tennis career as well as his personal life. "I think for tennis players it is always very important who you have next to you. Sophia is someone who gives me peace and security," Zverev told Tennis Magazin in December 2021. "I play extremely well with her behind me and I hope that will continue to be the case next year and maybe even better. I haven't achieved all of my goals yet."
Thomalla, who is also a dating game presenter, recently shared a loving post about Zverev that showed him sleeping next to a dog. "Happy Birthday my love Thank you for these 5 THRILLING years #sleepingbeauty," she wrote.
According to Sports Illustrated, Thomalla wasn't in France, although it's not clear why, but her mom did give Zverev a shout-out on Instagram.
