Mini Dachshund's Face Swells up Like a Cartoon Character After Venomous Snake Bite (He's Fine)
Dogs are naturally curious, which means they sometimes manage to find trouble in places we'd never expect. After a run-in with a venomous snake, a Mini Dachshund named Chippy ended up with a face so dramatically swollen that viewers joked he looked like a cartoon character, and somehow, he still looked absolutely adorable.
Chippy's mom, Ashley, shared a video of the little pup after picking him up from the vet following an overnight stay. Thankfully, despite the shocking amount of swelling, Chippy ended up being completely fine, and the internet couldn't stop reacting to his unbelievably puffy little face.

We're so glad Chippy ended up being OK, and we're impressed that Ashley was able to find humor in the situation because it easily could have turned out much worse.
In a follow-up video, Ashley shared that the antivenom treatment was extremely expensive, and unfortunately, we can confirm that firsthand. About 12 years ago, our West Highland Terrier was bitten by a rattlesnake. We rushed her to the emergency vet for antivenom without even thinking to ask for the cost first, only to discover it was $750 per vial, and she needed two of them! Thankfully, she also made a full recovery. Her face swelled up dramatically, too, although we have to admit she didn't look nearly as hilariously adorable as Chippy did!
