NBC Quietly Cancels 9 Shows, Including Comedy With 96% on Rotten Tomatoes
Earlier this week news broke that NBC was moving on from sophomore crime drama The Hunting Party after just two seasons.
Jeff Bader, NBCUniversal's President of Program Planning Strategy, didn't exactly hide the likely future of the show with his comments about the show last month.
"We're looking for places where we can grow the network, and that is a time period where we think we can do better," he said. "Nothing negative about Hunting Party, but for our linear schedule, we absolutely need to try and do a little bit better there."
NBC initially considered both a third season on the broadcast network and a switch to a Peacock original, but in the end, after some number-crunching, neither option panned out.
NBC Has Now Canceled 9 Shows
The Hunting Party wasn't the only show to get canceled as the network moves forward with a significant content overhaul heading into the 2026-27 broadcasting calendar by cancelling eight other shows.
Earlier this month news broke that the network canceled medical drama Brilliant Minds, and comedy show Stumble, which received a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes from fans.
Here's the full list and how long each show ran:
- Law & Order: Organized Crime (ended after Season 5)
- Brilliant Minds (ended after Season 2)
- Stumble (ended after Season 1)
- Access Hollywood (ended after 30 years)
- Access Daily (companion show ending with parent program)
- The Steve Wilkos Show (ended after 19 seasons)
- Karamo (ended after 4 seasons)
- The Kelly Clarkson Show (ending after 7 seasons)
- The Hunting Party ( ended after Season 2)
NBC's content overhaul will provide a much different lineup for viewers in 2026-27 as the network leans heavily on its sports content.
