What Is '3:10 to Yuma'?
The film from director James Mangold is a remake of a 1957 classic that came in the height of the Western genre.
"Outlaw Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) terrorizes 1800s Arizona, especially the Southern Railroad, until he is finally captured," the synopsis on Rotten Tomatoes reads. "Wade must be brought to trial, so Dan Evans (Christian Bale), the owner of a drought-stricken ranch, volunteers to escort him to the train. Along the trail, a grudging respect forms between the men, but danger looms at every turn, and the criminal's men are in pursuit."
The film received hefty praise from critics.
"Unapologetically harsh and heedlessly entertaining despite its imperfections, the film includes two masterful performances from Crowe and Bale - actors so intense, they could wear red and intimidate a charging bull," wrote Nick Rogers of Midwest Film Journal.
It received a strong 89% from critics and 86% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
