They say dogs are a man's best friend, and Gamja the Golden Retriever is really bringing that to life. While it's well known that dogs have a powerful sense of smell, it's this fluffy dog's hearing that's really making waves on the internet. Rather than stand by and wait for her human dad to come home, Gamja can sense when he's close by thanks to one familiar sound.

For many, this is just another example of how loyal our pups can be, especially golden retrievers. Such a sweet and wholesome moment; it's clear that this dog dad has a special place in Gamja's heart, and it's so wonderful to see.

"The Cutest Welcome Committee"

Who wouldn't want to get home from a long day at work to a golden retriever welcoming committee? Well, that's exactly what this dog dad experiences every day. Every time Gamja hears her dad's car, she knows he is just around the corner. Waiting for his arrival, for what we imagine must feel like days, Gamja is ready and set to "attack" her dad with cuddles and kisses.

Along with her golden retriever sibling, Chip, Gamja spends no time waiting to play with dad. Once they've made their acquaintance once again, the trio begins playing like no time has passed. Gamja and Chip's other parent also captioned the video with, "The cutest welcome committee," and "I guess appa is not the spare human after all." Clearly, Gamja doesn't care about who the spare parent is when time has passed without them.

In the comments, viewers were clearly enamored with the tender moment, with some adding, "Of course she LOVES him!!!!"

Another also joked, "Human zoomies," referring to dad's own version of the zoomies after meeting up with his two furbabies.

How Strong Is a Dog's Sense of Hearing?

Although it's a dog's sense of smell that tends to get the most attention, their sense of hearing doesn't fall far behind. Their acute sense of hearing is so powerful that it's said that a dog can hear up to four times farther away than humans and can detect higher frequencies.

With over a dozen muscles in the ears, dogs can easily tilt and swivel their ears to pinpoint the exact location of a sound. There is no doubt that Gamja could perfectly hear her father approaching, and that makes it even more beautiful.
