Netflix Renews ‘House of Guinness' for Season 2 After 90% Rotten Tomatoes Success

Fans of one of Netflix's most ambitious Top 10 original dramas have spent months in the dark. They were left fearing the series was over after the streaming giant went silent on its future. Now, behind-the-scenes production details have leaked, confirming that the series has secretly been greenlit for a second season.

A Blockbuster Period Drama Just Earned a Major Netflix Renewal

On June 12, 2026, Kasey Moore from What's on Netflix reported that a major series from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight will be returning. According to the outlet, House of Guinness has been renewed for a second season, which is very welcome news for the show. After all, What's on Netflix previously reported in October 2025 that the period drama's fate was very uncertain.

In a fascinating twist, the outlet noted that the renewal is being kept secret because it has not yet been officially announced, and Netflix declined to comment when questioned about it. Despite that, What's on Netflix reported that House of Guinness season 2 will begin filming in January 2027. This massive update comes more than eight months after the series premiered on September 25, 2025.

Upon its release, House of Guinness enjoyed success based on more than one important metric. What's on Netflix's fresh renewal report states that it spent four weeks in Netflix's Global Top 10 in the month after it premiered and peaked at No. 3. Given how much television content the streaming giant releases worldwide, even cracking that list is a major feat. Additionally, the series earned an impressive 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer, based on the reviews from critics.

House of Guinness focuses on the drama that takes place after the death of brewery mogul Sir Benjamin Guinness. In the aftermath, his four heirs, Arthur, Edward, Ben, and Anne, inherit his empire and are left to grapple with whether to sabotage each other or work together. The intra-family drama also takes place amid rising tensions with the business's workers. The series boasts a massive cast, which includes Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, Emily Fairn, Fionn O'Shea, James Norton, Niamh McCormack, Seamus O'Hara, and Jack Gleeson.
