Jimmy John's in Morganton appears closed without notice

Chairs are turned over on tables, large cans of tuna remain stacked against a back wall and cups are still in their holders.

Jimmy John's in Morganton still looks like it's just waiting to open before a lunchtime rush. There are no signs on the doors announcing any changes.

But the franchise location at 402 W. Fleming Drive, Morganton, in the Tannery Square shopping center has closed.

The location no longer shows up on the company's website, Google Reviews are shut down and Door Dash shows the location as temporarily closed.

However, neighbors in the shopping center say the location has been closed for about two weeks. And the owner was at the store several days ago and said it is permanently closed, some said.

The location opened in March 2014, The News Herald previously reported.

The closest Jimmy John's location in the area now is Hickory, located on Second Street NE. One is also located in Boone, and one in Statesville. The Asheville location on Hendersonville Road.
