First Rotten Tomatoes Score for 'Toy Story 5' Revealed - And Pixar's Done It Again

The fifth installment of the Toy Story saga hits theaters in just a few days.

"The toys are back in Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5, and this time it's Toy meets Tech," the tagline of the movie from Pixar reads.

"Woody (voice of Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (voice of Tim Allen), Jessie (voice of Joan Cusack) and the rest of the gang's jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad (voice of Greta Lee), a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie. Will playtime ever be the same?"

As the fan favorite toys get set for a new battle, Toy Story 5 is showing Pixar never lost its secret sauce.

First Reviews for 'Toy Story 5' Are Wildly Positive

The first reviews for the film, which comes out on June 19, started to pour in and are showing that Pixar has yet another hit on its hands.

Through the first 95 reviews on aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film is holding strong at a 94% rating from critics.

"It's funny and charming on a level with the first three films, even if it pulls a couple of punches. Pixar's not just toying with these characters - they take play very seriously indeed," wrote Helen O'Hara of Empire.

David Crow of Den of Geek said, "It justifies its existence by providing a thoughtful expansion on the plights of parenting in the 21st century and by revisiting what I believe to be the most poignant chapter in the plastic saga: Toy Story 2 and the cowgirl who got left behind."

The last two installments in the franchise, Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4 both grossed topped $400 million in the United States box office and over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Toy Story created lofty standards after hitting 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and the sequel lived up to the hype, hitting 100% as well.

Toy Story 3 received a 98% while Toy Story 4 came in at 97%.
