Shih-Tzu Treated To Most Extra Texas Roadhouse Birthday-He Only Had Eyes for the Steak

Ozzy the Shih Tzu turned one. His mom had a big plan. That plan involved Texas Roadhouse, a birthday dinner and a level of dog mom dedication that the internet was absolutely not ready for.

The TikTok from @jocelynramirezz captures the whole thing with a caption that says everything: "Happy birthday to my baby boy Ozzy #dogmom #mybaby #firstborn"

Ozzy is small and cream colored with the kind of fluffy Shih Tzu face that makes it very hard to say no to anything. What he wanted for his birthday was a steak from Texas Roadhouse. His mom made it happen.

This is not a dog who got an extra biscuit and a belly rub. Although those are awesome any day. No, this is a dog who got a real sit-down birthday dinner at Texas Roadhouse. He's with his mom. Sitting at the table. Eating a steak.

One look at the hashtags tell us the whole story: #dogmom #mybaby #firstborn. This is not just a pet. This is a firstborn.

For dog moms like Ozzy's, the first birthday is not just a milestone for the dog. It's a milestone for the whole family. One full year of routines, love and figuring each other out. All of it was building towards this exact steak.

The birthday boy sits at the table with the focus of someone who has been waiting for this his whole life. He's celebrating turning one year old. His whole life is one year. It has all been building toward this.

The comments showed up fully for Ozzy's birthday:

"Such a cutie pie happy birthday Ozzy"

"Ozzy don't give af about anything but that steak"

"Relax. Look how happy the doggy is "

"Meanwhile he was craving Texas Roadhouse for his birthday."

"My dog said if I don't take him on his next birthday he gonna find another mom "

Blessed is definitely the correct word. And if Ozzy's birthday is giving you ideas for your own dog, here is what actually works.

How to Throw Your Dog a Birthday Celebration They'll Actually Love

Turns out dog birthday parties are actually great for dogs and not just good for your Instagram feed.

According to Tearribles, doing something special for your dog on their birthday taps into what they truly love doing and brings you closer together in real ways.

The biggest thing you can do is take them somewhere new. A new place, like a pet-friendly restaurant or café, gives a dog's brain a serious workout. Tearribles notes that a brand new environment can be just as tiring and satisfying for a dog as a walk twice as long somewhere they've been a hundred times.

Food is also a really big deal to dogs. They get very excited by new tastes and the act of licking is actually calming for them. If you want to bake something at home, Tearribles has a vet-approved recipe that uses xylitol-free peanut butter, unsweetened applesauce and flour. One important thing to always check: some peanut butter brands contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. Chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions and garlic are also on the do-not-feed list.

For activities, hiding treats around the house or yard and letting your dog sniff them out gives them a vigorous mental workout that's just as good as running around outside.

Ozzy's mom figured all of this out on her own. New place. Good food. Her full attention. That is genuinely the whole formula.

His steak just happened to come with a serenade. One year old and already living his best dog life. Happy birthday Ozzy. You were always the main character.
