Major Automotive Store Suspends Operation for 'Grand Theft Auto 6' Release
It seems virtually the entire world is on standby for the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 later this year. The new trailer released this morning confirmed the game's cover art and pre-order date. The anticipation of the game is so great that some stores are having to now make decisions on staying open or not during the game's release week.
Over on the official Instagram account for Burger Motorsports, an automobile mod and customization company based in Simi Valley, California, has shared an internal memo that the company will not be open on November 19, 2026, the release date of Grand Theft Auto 6.
"Burger Motorsports will be observing a temporary company-wide operational pause on Thursday, November 19, 2026," the memo reads.
The message continues, directly citing the release of GTA 6 as the reason for the closing. "After reviewing multiple employee scheduling conflicts, management has determined that normal business operations may impacted due to the release of Grand Theft Auto 6," the memo reads.
The memo then lists the departments that may be affected, which include customer service, shipping, order processing, engineering, social media, and a general lack of productivity.
The memo ends with a light-hearted jest about operations resuming once employees complete their "initial exploration, have finished at least one mission, and returned to reality."
The message ends with Burger Motorsports asking for understanding and thanking its customers, calling GTA 6's release "an unprecedented cultural event."
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to be released on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
