Netflix Quietly Adding 2 Seasons of Beloved Comedy Series With Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score

In just over a month, Netflix will be adding two new season of a beloved comedy series that delivered a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes in its last season.

The streaming giant creates over 700 original titles for its more than 200 million monthly users, but also licenses content from other platforms. The latest addition is one fans have been waiting for.

'The Tick' Coming to Netflix

Created by Ben Edlund, The Tick is a Prime Video Original following the premiere of its initial pilot 2016. The series eventually received a 10-episode renewal, but was swiftly canceled after the second season of the rebooted show.

Now it's headed to Netflix, in some regions.

"Despite being a Prime Video Original, like the 2001 Fox series, the 2016 reboot is actually distributed by Sony Pictures Television. The exclusivity rights have likely come up, allowing Sony Pictures Television to monetize the show elsewhere, with Netflix swooping in and securing the rights to this brilliant modern take on the character," What's on Netflix wrote.

The all things Netflix site revealed the show isn't coming to the United States or Canada, but will be seen in Latin American countries like Brazil, Argentina and others, and also added in the United Kingdom, Germany and Australia.

Those in the U.S. and Canada will have to watch via Prime Video.

What Is 'The Tick'?

The Tick initially debuted in 2001 with Patrick Warburton starring as the titular character. It's 2016 reboot received critical acclaim.

"In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an accountant with mental health issues and zero powers comes to suspect his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead," the tagline from Amazon reads.

"As he struggles to uncover the conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero. They launch into an adventure brimming with crazed archvillains, blood-soaked vigilantes, and superhuman freakery."

The series received immediate praise from critics and audiences alike, with Season 1 receiving a 90% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and Season 2 coming in with a perfect 100%.
