Top WWE Superstar Reveals the Unique Clause He Has in His Contract
A top superstar in WWE has disclosed the unique clause he managed to negotiate in his contract.
Only so many wrestlers have been able to negotiate special perks in their contracts, like Hulk Hogan, whose 1998 contract with WCW included creative control, 50 percent of merchandise sales, and significant revenue from pay-per-view and house shows.
Pro wrestlers don't have as much behind-the-scenes pull as in the '90s and early 2000s, when prominent names like Hogan, Kevin Nash, Triple H, The Rock, Undertaker and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin enjoyed plenty of input.
WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has a sponsorship deal with Wheatley American Vodka. During a conversation with Diamond Dallas Page on Rhodes' "What Do You Want To Talk About?" podcast (h/t Fightful.com), the American Nightmare stated that he successfully negotiated a rare clause in his deal with Wheatley.
"I did a contract recently, it's not anything major or life-changing," Rhodes stated. "Our friends at Wheatley are indeed our friends at Wheatley I did this contract recently and I put at the end, I just want to select a legend for the TVC portion. I wanted to be able to put someone from our Hall of Fame group, one of our legends. I've come to realize that my only answer for why is that it's the right thing to do."
Last month, WWE Hall of Famer "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan shared some behind-the-scenes photos of the vodka commercial he filmed with Rhodes:

Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre on the March 6 episode of SmackDown to become the new WWE Champion. The American Nightmare went on to successfully defend his title against former Legacy ally Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42.
This week, Rhodes reached the 100-day milestone as the WWE Champion. His first reign lasted 378 days (April 7, 2024, to April 21, 2025), with the second one ending at 159 days (Aug. 3, 2025, to Jan. 9, 2026).
