What to know about Along Came Polly
Written and directed by John Hamburg, the film stars Stiller as Reuben Feffer, a man who falls in love with a former middle school classmate--Aniston's Polly Prince--after his wife, portrayed by Debra Messing, leaves him for a well-endowed scuba instructor, played by Hank Azaria.
Chaos ensues as Messing's character eventually tries to win Reuben back, but in the end, he and Polly wind up happily ever after. A loaded cast also includes Philip Seymour Hoffman, Alec Baldwin, Bryan Brown, Judah Friedlander, Cheryl Hines, Michele Lee, Missi Pyle and a young Kevin Hart.
While the movie performed well at the box office, and also included an underrated soundtrack, reviews were more mixed. It holds only a 27% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 44/100 on Metacritic for its "mixed or average" reviews.
The film's highest reviews came from the San Francisco Chronicle, Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly and Seattle Post-Intelligencer, while it received low marks from Salon, The New York Times, Baltimore Sun, TV Guide Magazine and others.
