Backstage Note: WWE Blockbuster Long-Term Plans for Roman Reigns Revealed

Roman Reigns' push as the top star on the Raw brand reportedly won't be ending any time soon.

Reigns defeated CM Punk in the main event of WrestleMania 42 to win the World Heavyweight Championship. After his successful title defense against Jacob Fatu at Clash in Italy, the latter had to acknowledge Reigns, reuniting him with the Usos as a result.

The Bloodline stable is seemingly back together, and Reigns isn't on the card for Saturday's Night of Champions pay-per-view. So, what's next for the 41-year-old superstar?

According to TRNBCKL Gold (h/t 411Mania), there are no plans to end Reigns' World Heavyweight title run in the near future. The company is reportedly pleased with the Bloodline storyline, especially with Fatu bringing "fresh new life into the storyline."

Oba Femi and Jey Uso will face off in the King of the Ring finals on Saturday, with the winner earning a title match at SummerSlam 2026. With CM Punk reportedly set to move to the SmackDown brand, one can assume he would feud with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

If that's the case, the winner of Femi vs. Uso would likely challenge Reigns at SummerSlam. This year's event will be held on the Aug. 1-2 weekend at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Roman Reigns Just Crossed 60 Days as the World Heavyweight Champion

Last week, Reigns hit the 60-day mark as the World Heavyweight Champion (now 65 days and counting). This is his first reign with the World Heavyweight title since the title was introduced in April 2023.

Reigns held the Universal Championship for 1,316 days (Aug. 30, 2020, to April 7, 2024) before losing to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. Now, we wait and see how long this current title reign will last.
