Hams, hot cross buns and bloody Marys: Here are top Triangle options for Easter takeout

In this season of renewal, as buds burst forth into blooms, you might be looking for a ham.

Last year’s Easter was the first holiday derailed and altered by the COVID-19 pandemic. That led many families to break traditions and opt for smaller gatherings.

Though vaccinations are progressing and case counts lowering, many are looking to takeout meals yet again this holiday. Here are a few of the top Triangle restaurants serving up Easter meals.

Angus Barn

This Raleigh steakhouse is serving a take-home prime rib meal for four to five people, including a ready to cook bone-in prime rib with jus and horseradish sauce, ham, apples, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, rolls, cheese and crackers, and a whole chocolate chess pie. The meal is $200, with pickup April 3 from 12 to 4 p.m. and April 4 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Boston Market

There are two locations in Raleigh, serving a take-home Easter meal including spiral ham, turkey or prime rib, with mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and other sides, plus dessert. Items are fully cooked and intended to be reheated. Delivery is also available.

Cracker Barrel

Located in Morrisville and Durham, offering family style meals for up to 10 people, including sugar-cured ham or prime rib, vegetables and dessert.

Crossroads at the Carolina Inn

Offering a take-home meal for four people for $225, including a Dr Pepper and pineapple glazed ham, roasted ribeye with horseradish sauce and mustard, sides, rolls and dessert. Orders can be picked up April 3 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Gravy

Offering take-home brunch packages for two, four or eight people, ranging from $50 to $175, featuring salad, strawberry and goat cheese bruschetta, vegetarian quiche, apricot-glazed ham, mac and cheese and hot cross buns. Add-ons, including cocktail kits, are available. Orders must be placed by March 28, with pickup available April 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Guglhupf

This German bakery and cafe in Durham is taking orders for Easter specials, including breads, sweets, tarts, hot cross buns, pineapple coconut guglhupf and Easter bunny challah. Orders must be placed by March 31 at 4 p.m. and picked up by April 3.

Honey Baked Ham

With four locations in the Triangle, Honey Baked Ham is offering hams for delivery and pickup.

Offering an Easter brunch package for $60, including breakfast strata, Boston creme challah, mini scones, macarons and granola. Other breads and pastries are available as add-ons, including hot cross buns, as well as quiche and mimosa ingredients.

Longleaf Swine

Serving specials like smoked prime rib, honey-pepper glazed ham and pulled pork, plus sides by the pound. Pickup is April 2 and April 3.

Mandolin

Offering take-home Easter meal for $69, including a glazed ham, goat cheese and spinach tart, roasted root vegetables, bread and strawberry shortcake for dessert. The meal serves two people and must be placed by March 29 by 3 p.m., with pickup on Saturday, April 3 between 12-4 p.m.

Margaux’s Restaurant

Pickup is Saturday, April 3 from 1 to 3 p.m.
