Rockola? Darryl’s? Which of these 21 closed Raleigh restaurants would you bring back?

File photos

No doubt Raleigh’s restaurant scene is more vibrant and diverse than ever before.

We have food halls, pho spots, boutique barbecue joints and a James Beard Award-winning chef! What more could we want?

Well, actually, we’d love a Roadside Chicken Sandwich from Darryl’s, some crispy onion rings from Rockola and a slice of coconut pie from the Belk cafeteria.

Except all those places are gone.

That got us to thinking: if we could bring back one dearly departed Raleigh restaurant, which would it be?

Here’s the list of candidates we came up with. Vote for your favorites (we’ll let you vote for three). And below the ballot, there’s a place where you can tell us all the great places we left off.

Do I need to tell you this isn’t a scientific poll? It’s not a scientific poll.

And we’ll publish the results next week.
