Which NC State Fair food vendor is your all-time favorite? Vote here.

The Tater Hut, a popular mom and pop vendor, specializes in fresh-cut french fries. Employees stay busy day and night during the 11-day N.C. State Fair.

We lost a giant this week.

The First United Methodist Church of Cary/White Plains Methodist booth — which has operated at the NC State Fair for more than 100 years and has THE BEST HAM BISCUITS (fight me) — confirmed that it is closing its restaurant and will not return to the fair.

With that booth’s closing, it got us to thinking about other fair favorites. The fries. The corn. The hot dogs. The ice cream. The deep-fried whatevers. Which vendors have been your favorites at the fair?

You can vote as many times as you like (it’s not a scientific poll) and you can vote for three places each time. Did we forget something major? Tell me at bcain@newsobserver.com.

See you in October!
