The Romans had chariots, and hot dog fans have the Wienermobile.

The great frankfurter on wheels will return to the Triangle this weekend, pulling up its buns for two stops.

The first will be Saturday in Johnston County, otherwise known as the land of Brightleaf Hot Dogs, as part of Skyfest. The Wienermobile will roll into the Johnston County Regional Airport, at 3149 Swift Creek Road in Smithfield, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The second will be Sunday at the Raleigh Flea Market, at 4285 Trinity Road at the State Fairgrounds, from 12 to 3 p.m.

As part of the Wienermobile experience, visitors will get a free hot dog whistle and as many selfies as the heart desires.

The famous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile measures 27 foot-long hotdogs long. It was last in the Triangle in November 2022.
