All-star roster of Triangle chefs will host charity dinner supporting one of their own
An all-star slate of Triangle chefs will gather Monday night for a charity dinner in Raleigh.
The Stand Together Gala will be held Monday, Oct. 23 at Whitaker & Atlantic at 1053 E. Whitaker Mill Road, within the Dock 1053 development in Raleigh. The event benefits NextStep Raleigh, a paralysis recovery center with a major connection to the Triangle’s chef community.
NextStep is owned by Karen Thor, the mother of Raleigh restaurant owner Michael Thor, who suffered a spinal cord injury in 2019. The recovery center was opened to help Thor and others regain strength, mobility and independence after injuries. NextStep is located at 6601 Hillsborough St. in Raleigh.
Michael Thor is the co-owner of Whiskey Kitchen in Raleigh.
Monday’s gala features James Beard-nominated chefs and some of the Triangle’s most exciting up-and-comers in the local dining scene.
Here’s the roster for the dinner:
- Liz Grandchamp of Grandchamp Hospitality
- Marc Russell and Adam Cunningham of Longleaf Swine
- Preeti Waas of Cheeni
- Ian Bracken and Paul Chirico of Ideals Sandwich & Grocery
- Coleen Speaks of Hummingbird
- Dave Mitchell of Plates Kitchen
- Tie Whittaker of Buttermilk Boutique
